This summer we had the opportunity to work on a house in the preservation district, owned by a commercial client.  The project involved beautiful traditional fabrics, including silk interlined with “bump” cloth to give it a more luxurious hand.  Our seamstresses made swags, jabots, valances, and draperies tied with thick rope cords, products we don’t often do these days. Our head seamstress, Theresa, met the challenge of this highly detailed work with enthusiasm, and Taskeen hand-steamed draperies for hours!

Although we are not currently promoting residential drapery work, it’s great to use our skills when called upon for a special project like this.
